AS 9100/9120 are a set of standards with specific guidelines geared towards the aerospace industry. The aerospace industry has become increasingly more important with every year. The future holds more of the same. With more popularity and more business however, sometimes aerospace organizations lack the need to be managed and handled efficiently. The result is poor customer satisfaction. More importantly, the biggest concern is the safety of everyone flying. Therefore AS 9100/9120 provide guidelines that guarantee good company practices that make sure every product they produce or distribute will be a quality product. Lean QA understands the importance of remaining in the air, and thus makes an ambitious commitment to fully train organizations and individuals on the principles of AS 9100/9120.
Anyone who has used commonsense along with a bit of critical thinking in performing any task has experienced “Lean”. Everyday whether it’s at home or in our workplace we see wasteful ways of doing things and we see easy, standardized, and Lean ways of doing our jobs. What we choose determines our ability to succeed as humans or as an organization. Using business simulation and experiential learning process, Lean QA professionals train on why Lean is the Mantra for Success in corporate world. In our Lean training you will learn and understand what the seven forms of waste are, the level flow work, the four elements of lean, error proofing, the five lean principles, one-piece continuous flow, visual controls, standard work, 6-S, lean simulations, pull system, and case studies. You will also learn how to implement these in your company.
Total Quality Management is an integrative philosophy of management for continuously improving the quality of products and processes. Total Quality Management functions on the premise that the quality of products and processes is the responsibility of everyone who is involved with the creation, distribution, or consumption of the products or services offered by an organization. In other words, Total Quality Management capitalizes on the involvement of management, workforce, suppliers, and even customers, in order to meet or exceed customer expectations. Total Quality Management has become a worldwide phenomenon accepted and practiced in many fortune 500 companies. Lean QA teaches the principles that were adopted by the fortune 500 as part of our training curriculum. We also use creative and innovative techniques to help students understand what Total Quality Management is, how to effectively implement it, and what the benefits of implementing it are.
Six Sigma means 3 defects in 1 million opportunities. i.e., If GE produces 1 million light bulbs, for that process to be operating at the Six Sigma level; only 3 light bulbs could be defective. Companies striving to achieve 6s within their processes utilize various statistical techniques to error-proof their work systems. Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing, distribution and all other business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization (Black Belts, Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and White Belts.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets for either cost reduction or to increase profits. Lean QA offers classes and certifications for all 4 belts. Our instructors each have over 20 years of experience in teaching Six Sigma. They draw from their experience of working in fortune 500 companies to show real life examples that students can connect to. 6s methodology is taught by Lean QA to reduce variation in a process to the extent that the process becomes robust and repetitively reliable. Some of the methods that we teach in our Six Sigma classes are listed below:
Most organizations do not realize full benefits from their audit programs. When performed correctly audit results in reduced waste and continuous improvement. Lean QA teaches auditors how to conduct value added audits and drive continuous improvement within their organizations. After completion of the Internal Auditor course, Lean QA provides a recognized certificate of completion and competence in Internal Auditing. Our Lean QA instructors know the importance of a good audit, which is why we always thrive to innovatively teach the internal auditor course, so the students fully understand and gain the skills to conduct an effective and efficient audit geared towards continuous improvement. Within our Internal Auditor classes we teach the following:

However, communicating with your existing clients, future clients, or other team members in your company can always be improved to be more effective. Lean QA teaches techniques and strategies to ask the right questions whether it be other fellow employees or your customers. We also teach how to answer questions effectively. Lean QA separates this training into two segments; 1) effective internal communication within your company, 2) effective communication with your customers. In the first part, you will learn extensively how to efficiently stream communication individually and then as a whole company. For the second part of the training, you will learn why it is very important to communicate effectively with customers, and the techniques that will show you how to successfully communicate with your customer.
Continuous Improvement is the key to survival in the corporate world. Progressive organizations are always on the leading edge in implementing improvements. It is befitting for corporations to review quality management system and its suitability on a periodic basis. Management Review provides a common platform to review continued suitability of the Quality Management System in place. Lean QA sets up effective Management Reviews which are meaningful and customized to your business. Lean QA Management Review modules are packed with value and are being used very successfully by other corporations. The points we copiously cover in our management review trainings are as follows:
A flowchart is worth a thousand words. Flowcharts are maps or graphical representations of a process. Steps in a process are shown with symbolic shapes, and the flow of the process is indicated with arrows connecting the symbols. Effective flowcharting involves identifying the correct process as is and putting that up on the board. Lean QA’s method of teaching effective flowcharting will give you the proper tools to flowchart like a champion. From definitions to techniques, to Lean QA’s personal secrets on conducting flowcharts, you will be fully equipped to make a beneficial flowchart. We will also teach you how to read the flowchart to optimize your opportunities for improvement.
Value stream mapping is a supporting method that is often used in Lean environments to analyze and design flows at the system level (across multiple processes). Value stream mapping provides companies the ability to cut out the wasteful processes. Some of the techniques that will be taught in the Lean QA training will include learning how to spot wasteful processes, how to effectively phase these wasteful processes out without hurting any other processes, and learning how to see opportunities for improvement. Simply working inside your company and with the same processes day after day will not help your company grow and reach its full potential. With the training on Lean QA’s value stream mapping, you will be able to look at your company from a bird’s perspective and easily identify processes you can cut out and save money and/or implement and make money.
Risk management is the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks (defined in ISO 31000 as the effect of uncertainty on objectives, whether positive or negative) followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of opportunities. Risks can come from uncertainty in financial markets, project failures (at any phase in development, production, or sustainment life-cycles), legal liabilities, credit risk, accidents, natural causes and disasters as well as deliberate attack from an adversary or events of uncertain root-cause. Lean QA trainings describe how to mitigate, and greatly reduce the possibility of risk through our extensive explanations of important principles and strategies. You will learn exactly what risks are, how to identify and spot them before something harmful happens, and how to be fully equipped and prepared to handle risks.
Inventory management is primarily about specifying the shape and percentage of stocked goods. It is required at different locations within a facility or within many locations of a supply network to precede the regular and planned course of production and stock of materials. The scope of inventory management concerns the fine lines between replenishment lead time, carrying costs of inventory, asset management, inventory forecasting, inventory valuation, inventory visibility, future inventory price forecasting, physical inventory, available physical space for inventory, quality management, replenishment, returns and defective goods and demand forecasting. Balancing these competing requirements leads to optimal inventory levels, which is an on-going process as the business needs shift and react to the wider environment. Lean QA trainings provide the proper tools and knowledge you need to effectively balance these competing requirements in order for you to obtain optimal inventory levels.
Lean QA’s root cause analysis training is a class of problem solving methods aimed at identifying the root causes of problems or events. The practice of root cause analysis is predicated on the belief that problems are best solved by attempting to address, correct or eliminate root causes, as opposed to merely addressing the immediately obvious symptoms. By directing corrective measures at root causes, it is more probable that problem recurrence will be prevented. There may be several effective measures (methods) that address the root cause of a problem. Thus, root cause analysis is often considered to be an iterative process, and is frequently viewed as a tool of continuous improvement. Lean QA’s root cause analysis training gives students a hands on approach to real life examples of problems and how to find their solutions. In this training students will understand and learn how to implement the tools such as 5 why’s and other problem solving methods.
The quickest and cost effective way to achieve lean and reduce waste in your company is to implement 6S. In this training you will learn what 6S is, why it is imperative in this new age of business, and how it should be implemented in your organization.
6S stands for:
Whether you are preparing for Earthquakes or Tsunami’s, if you have identified and addressed potential risks affiliated with events in personal or business life, logic says you'll incur minimal losses. Preventive Actions help reduce effects of losses and liabilities. Management must plan to identify and implement a system in place to systematically mitigate effects of potential losses to the organization. In this training we’ll review common risks to organizations, use of risk analysis tools, management review outputs and results of self-assessments in the form of preventive actions that help eliminate the causes of potential nonconformities in order to prevent their occurrence.
